Writing code and testing to keep secure systems running.

My core languages are Python and C++, with SQL close behind for working with data. I develop and maintain programs in RPG and RPGLE, testing rigorously to keep enterprise systems secure and reliable. I am pursuing a Master's in Cybersecurity, with future plans to pursue a PhD, and getting into AI research, with an interest in machine learning. Beyond that, I'm always building new projects, exploring new innovations, and testing out new ideas.

Where I've worked

May 2025 - Present

Programmer Analyst

Dunham's Sports (Full-Time)
  • Write, debug, and maintain RPG, RPGLE, and SQL programs powering core purchase order, inventory, and warehouse management systems on IBM i (AS/400)
  • Track down and fix critical bugs in production code, tracing errors back through legacy codebases to root cause
  • Refactor and optimize existing programs to automate manual workflows and cut down on repetitive processes
  • Write SQL queries to pull and analyze business data, building custom reports that feed executive decision-making
  • Test changes thoroughly before deployment, checking for edge cases and security gaps to keep production systems stable and secure
  • Own features end to end across the SDLC, from gathering requirements and writing code to testing, staging, and deployment
  • Support multiple departments with day to day IT issues, diagnosing root causes and resolving problems quickly to minimize downtime
  • Work directly with warehouse, purchasing, and operations teams to translate business needs into working system changes
  • Document changes and processes clearly so other developers can maintain and extend the systems I build
Oct 2024 - May 2025

System Engineering Intern

Schaeffler
  • Executed system-level functional testing, validation, and diagnostic troubleshooting using Polarion and specialized hardware modules
  • Evaluated battery module performance, flashed software builds onto target devices, and analyzed test result metrics
  • Collaborated with multidisciplinary engineering teams to refine technical specifications using JIRA and IMS
May 2024 - Oct 2024

System Engineering Intern

Vitesco Technologies
  • Assisted in designing and modeling system architectures using Polarion and LIMAS
  • Conducted performance analysis and test suite execution for the Ford BMS Project, verifying reliability via hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • Gathered technical requirements and managed sprint deliverables with cross-functional teams via JIRA

Things I've built

HealthCare AI App (In Progress)

An iOS app that gives quick, generic medical guidance using AI. Not a replacement for a doctor, but a fast first stop for someone who needs an easy answer, with the ability to summarize medical reports automatically.

iOS Swift AI / ML

QuickVolt

An iOS app for EV drivers to find charging stations, check live charger status, and leave ratings and reviews to help other drivers pick a reliable spot.

iOS Swift

CashTrack

An Android budgeting app for tracking income and expenses, with spending limits, categorized insights, a financial summary dashboard, and trend analysis. Savings goals and richer data visualizations are in progress.

Certifications

In Progress

CompTIA Security+

Industry-standard certification covering core security concepts including threats, risk management, cryptography, network security, and identity and access management.

Information Security Practice

A broad, hands-on introduction to information security, covering core domains like privacy, fraud investigation, compliance, physical security, and cyberlaw, plus more technical ground like IT infrastructure security, IAM, SOC operations, and ethical hacking. Paired with labs like detecting rootkits, analyzing the WannaCry ransomware attack, scanning for vulnerabilities with Nessus, and implementing MFA.

System Analysis

Covers the full systems development life cycle, from requirements elicitation and use case analysis to entity relationship diagrams, data modeling, architecture and UI design, and program design. Also builds project management skills like scheduling and risk management, and covers Agile methodologies alongside traditional SDLC approaches.

Programming in ILE RPG

Focused training in ILE RPG programming on the IBM i platform, directly applied in day-to-day work maintaining and building enterprise systems at Dunham's Sports.
